Script

This is my script for my presenter (Mary-Sue Challinor) This script is the only script used in my production as my project is one run through review.

Script

A young attractive female presenter is sat at a table with clips of movie premiers playing behind her.
Mary
“Hello, welcome to our reviews. My name is Maryand today we’re going to be talking about some of the newly released films out. There’s been loads of great films lately that have been released and so we’re going to check some of them out. And remember to let us know what you think.”
A small clip of Sherlock Holmes, playing in the top right corner. Camera zooms in onto that box and the clip becomes full screen.

“So, that right there was some scenes from the new Family action comedy, Sherlock Holmes. It stars Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, with co-stars like Rachel McAdams. We think the film is a great new take on the old version and Robert and Jude were both amazing. But, what do you think? Remember you can message us with your opinions or even tweet to us on our twitter page.
This film is out now in cinemas and after seeing it, I know it is really worth a watch. We give this film a 4 star, for family friendly entertainment, with all the comedy of these great stars, and even a bit of action chucked in. What do you think its worth? Leave us a review on our website.”
A small clip of Toy Story 3, playing in the top right corner. Camera zooms in onto that box and the clip becomes full screen.

Mary
“So, here’s the one so many have been waiting for. A follow on to the Toy Story films, a childhood favourite. Andy is off to college and the toys are on another adventure. We think this is such a great film. It’s something that the kids are obviously going to enjoy but the parents will love it too. And even teenagers might be visiting the cinema as toy story was their generation of films. Its a true all over classic. The storyline is a great follow on to the last time we saw the characters, and they’ve kept well to the spirit of the original films. We give this film an easy 5 stars. It’s an all time favourite that everyone can love, and it’s a great way to spend an evening in with the whole family. Have you seen it? And if so, share your feedback with us and let us know if you think they did the old films justice.”
A small clip of Friends with Benefits, playing in the top right corner. Camera zooms in onto that box and the clip becomes full screen.

“So, this film is something that is for a more adult audience and shows a different take on relationships. Friends with benefits stars Justin Timberlake, and the beautiful Mila Kunis, known more recently for co-starring with Natalie Portman in The Black Swan.  These two work well together, and the film also has a brilliant sense of humour to it, showing how all things like this don’t have to be serious. It’s a great idea for a film and they’ve done an good job pulling it off. This romantic comedy is most definitely worth a watch and it covers a couple different genres. If you haven’t seen it already, you should have a watch. We reckon this great romantic comedy is a 4 star, but what do you think?
A small clip of insidious, playing in the top right corner. Camera zooms in onto that box and the clip becomes full screen.

Mary
Ok, so this is a horror. The film, Insidious, is from the creators of Saw, and although its still quite a scary film, it is nothing to compare to the Saw films. The film lacked sense and although there was many creepy bits in this film, it’s not one of the greatest, and seems like a bit of a stretch. But it’s still worth seeing if you like horrors in general. Have you seen it? If so let us no your opinions, or maybe go and see it now. Remember always let us know your views. Over all we’re going to give Insidious a 3 star rating. Not one of the greatest horrors of all time but, it follws the basic rules of a horror film and is still worth the watch, even if just for a night in.
A small clip of Real Steel, playing in the top right corner. Camera zooms in onto that box and the clip becomes full screen.

This film is a favourite with us. It’s got Hugh Jackman as our main character, he’s a great actor. The film is about an old fighter. Times have changed and the fighting is now all left to the robots. Hugh Jackman plays a great main role and this film is fun and excitement most of the way through. He character is great and he and his co-stars did a great job. The story is fun and something new, and the cast pull it off great. We give this film a four star rating, because of its new idea, it’s fun atmosphere, and it doesn’t leave out the element of shock and excitement that an action film requires. What do you think? Have you seen it or planning to? Remember comment, or tweet.
A small clip of The Change-up, playing in the top right corner. Camera zooms in onto that box and the clip becomes full screen.

Now, The change-up is a hilarious film. This is a comedy film starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman. The guys are two opposites, one major bachelor, and the other a full on family man. They have their bodies swapped and take on hilarious journeys to survive in each other’s lives. The two men work great together and provide some great comedy. The storyline is great and it is  a great watch. We give it a 4 star rating for comedy and great acting. Let us know what you think.
Several clips of different big named films over the past year are all together in a montage.

Well, throughout last year and this, we’ve had some pretty good films released. In 2010 we saw the release of Toy Story 3 and the first part of Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows. Also we saw a re-release of the Alice in Wonderland film, with a cast including Johnny Depp. After this we’ve had a great year from 2011 with films such as Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The recent films have been a great success with plenty of favourites for everyone that are some great watches. Now, tell us which has been your all-time favourite film of the year? And what you favourite Genre is.
Thanks for watching and telling us your opinions. We hope you’ve enjoyed and keep tweeting!

Editing Starts + Other crew Jobs 17/01/12

Today I worked on Michael's project. It is a zombie trailer and so make-up was necessary on the cast, which I helped out with. As well as this I helped with props for other scenes (E.G Blood pools/splatter etc.). However, my main job in the project was lighting, although for one of the different scenes I was also required to be a camera operator. This means that today I covered quite a few different aspects of crew jobs on one project.

Later on in the day, we went back to the Mac room and I transferred all video footage onto the Mac and began my editing on Premier. So far I have managed to order 4 scenes and cut out the green screen and make sure the footage looks right. In my next session I will finish the remaining scenes and then begin cutting the clips to fit how they are intended. After I have done this I will transfer the sound footage that was taken on another piece of equipment, and match up the sound to the video footage.
There will be other things to do once that is completed, including adding the proper background into the green screen (the background will have the logo of my project on). I also need to find music for the theme tune.
Whilst rendering my project as far as I got it I began searching for sound/music clips on 'Sounddogs.com'. However, I have yet to find the sound that I will be using.

Filming Starts 10/01/12

Last Tuesday, I began and finished all my green screen filming for my project, which is a cinematic film review called 'SmartTalk'. All the footage that I would need for the project would be a presenter (Mary-Sue Challinor) sat at a desk on a green screen, as if filmed in a studio. This means that I managed to get it all wrapped up in one day and could start editing this week. The filming all took place in the lecture theatre in college, and so no specific location permission was needed. This is because the room was already booked for our class for all green screen filming to be done.
As well as filming and directing my own project last week, I also worked as a lighting tech on Mary's project, and finalised my floor plan and light/camera set up.
(These will be up later, along with my moodboard, storyboard and scripts)

To-do list and filming

Today we went into the hall and set up the green screen etc, and started filming on someone's project. I had didn't have a specific job to do on his project but I was there to watch what others were doing in order to get an idea of what I will be doing next week.

As well as filming, I wrote a to do list of what else I must do for planning before filming/editing is started.

Complete floor plan
Decide on a final Camera/lights set up and show on paper
Find a music theme for my project
Design a logo for the 'show' I have created
Final arrangements for cast/props
Make sure props are available on the day of filming. e.g Table/chair
Location forms for permission
Talent permission forms

Most of the above will be completed by next week when my filming is started, and the others must be done before editing is started, as they will be put in after filming (logo on green screen/ music)
